Hewlett H Davis General Store & Post Office ca 1890

Erastus Brown built this when he was the postmaster of MP. Hewlett Davis bought it in 1914 and moved it to its present location. The building was divided with half being a general store and half the post office. The entire building was taken over by the post office in 1955, but a fire in 1969 forced the PO to move. It is currently occupied by a photographer and the property remains in the Davis family today. In one of the pictures below, you can see how the building was divided in half between the post office and the general store.
